Nicholas Mason

So I started playing again for the first time in a while. When I made my world I set rifts to off not realizing that disables surface drifters. I have since turned them on using the console and have seen a few rifts but its been like half a season and I haven't seen a surface drifter. Did their spawn conditions change within the last 2 or 3 major updates or might I have broke my save? I am using the 1.20.X unstable version so maybe that's causing problems?
