I have been playing this game for several years now and love it. A lot of time and thought have gone into world building like rock strata and prospecting which I really like. That said I find it extraordinarily annoying the number of times I have plummeted down a vertical shaft while walking about. While a rare shaft would not bother me, they are super common. for ages I try go everywhere with a stack of dirt so I can nerd pile my way out of super deep holes (assuming I survive impact) I keep expecting this to be addressed, but it never is. Is this considered a feature? Have the developers ever mentioned fixing it?

Been playing a new game started a few weeks ago with experimental . any reason to restart now that we are on a release candidate? thanks

I have thousands on hours in Vintage Story. My current play through I used a mod to change the start date to March 1st instead of May 1st. I must say this has been a fun play though so far. Normally I skip a lot of things I enjoy like panning Bonny soil and exploring ruins in an effort to maximize progression before the first winter. Cold was a real problem. Solved by panning and selling some gems to traders which I normally don’t use much. Food was a constant struggle, fish are a great source since they are stuck and can’t run away. its just been a delightful run.
