  1. As there are a vast amount of crafting recipes with many different items and tools, it's hard to remember all crafting recipes from memory. The current workflow is to open the survival handbook and look up the crafting recipe, before placing all items and tools properly inside the crafting grid (to match the shown recipe inside the handbook). I wonder if there are ways to further optimze that workflow and maybe allow for faster crafting and better user experience. If a player has all required items for a crafting recipe inside the inventory the survival handbook which shows the recipe may offer a button to directly place all items in their proper slots inside the player's crafting grid AND/OR the craftable item may be shown in an extra window (e.g. on the right side of the inventory). If the player clicks the craftable item, the items needed for crafting are placed inside the crafting grid (Note: The window may show multiple craftable items, if the items inside the player's inventory allow crafting of multiple items) What do you think? Are you happy if the UI would be more aware of the action the user may need/want to perform in the future or do you think "less help is better / keeps things clean"? Note: I hope this has not been suggested before. I couldn't find any topic in the brief search I made.
  2. I always try to avoid them by only exploring in daytime. If it's not possible to avoid them (such as when running through dense forests), having a higher tier armor really helps when you are being attacked. In addition to that, having maximum possible health points by eating a variety of food (fruit, vegetable, grain, portein and dairy) gives you more room to withstand hits. In my current world, I am able to successfully fight bears using a bow/spear, iron falx and bronze brigandine armor, even when it's not always easy and sometimes a close-call. I also observed that if bears follow you into water (e.g. into a lake), they tend to drop down below water surface and if that happens, you can attack them without them being able to attack you. They seem to struggle into water during a fight. I do not know if this is intentional or maybe just caused by the game mechanics itself, but you can make use of that.
