  1. Hello,
I’m not sure if this topic has already been discussed, but I wanted to ask the community for their opinion on it.

I’ve been playing the game for about a year (with around 100 to 150 hours played), and I’ve spent most of that time playing with friends in groups of 3 to 5 players (which may explain my suggestion).

I really appreciate the developers’ work and the current state of the game, but I feel that the current progression system is somewhat lacking.

In my opinion, there is not enough incentive to use certain technologies, such as copper or bronze (which I personally only use for about an hour of gameplay, or even less—just to mine tin to make bronze, and then to mine iron). I think this reduces the game’s longevity and doesn’t encourage players to adapt to their equipment or their environment.

I also think the game is missing a technology tree, or something similar, that would require players to meet certain prerequisites: having a certain level in a specific skill (for example farming, mining, forging, or building), constructing specific buildings for forging, or simply crafting and using a certain number of bronze tools before being able to progress to the next age.

This could also give more purpose to books and paper, which could be required or used in a research table or something similar, where players could conduct research using certain materials to unlock new technologies or progress to a new age.

I understand that the ideas I’m suggesting would probably be quite complex to implement, but I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter.

PS: I am not English so excuse me for any potential spelling mistakes.

  2. Thank you all for your help.
I’m going to do the dungeon today because I just finished preparing my stuff.

Also depends heavily on what you're after. Lore books and fancy clothing items are the main things to find, though there are also several Jonas parts to find as well. If you're after unique knick-knacks, those are more found in chapter two of the story.

The glider isn't the only thing you'll find, there's lots of lore books and various fancy clothing, not to mention the loot you'll get from the monsters

Books are exactly what I’m interested in because I want to make a big library, I can’t wait to explore a dungeon !

  3. Hello everyone,
I’m currently in the early Iron Age, I have the map of the dungeon and information that we find a glider and I have some questions about the first dungeon.
What to take to explore the dungeon (armor/weapons)?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Is the glider really useful?
What other loot is really interesting?

  4. thank you for your answer,

Welcome to the forums! It depends on your personal preference, really. If you have the resources for bronze and would rather have more protection when you go out and about, bronze armor is a decent investment. Which style of armor you choose is up to you, though for bronze tier I would recommend lamellar. It's less expensive and easier to make than the other styles, and though the protection might be a bit worse than other styles it'll be enough to get the job done while you work towards iron.

Not necessarily. All you really need to do is find a good ore reading with the prospecting pick, and then dig a shaft straight down until you find what you're after(use the Node Search mode on the propick every so often to make sure you don't miss anything). It's safe to dig straight down in Vintage Story, provided that you're placing ladders as you work. As long as you don't move off the ladder's blockspace(which is difficult to do in a tiny mineshaft), it's impossible to fall off.

I will just start to collect iron and I made the lamellar bronze armor for the cave but i dont but I don’t know if I should make black bronze before because I have gold and silver thanks to quartz vein. I wonder if the gap between the iron armor and the black bronze armor is so important? or if I have to rush fast the iron armor.

  5. Hello,
I currently have about 30 hours of play and I was wondering if bronze armor is profitable or not.
I created an armor in my current game (plate armor) but I don’t know if I should have waited for the iron.

PS: sorry for my bad english i use a translator.
