v1.21.6-rc.1 Story Chapter 2 Redux, Maintenance patch #2
Akari_Enderwolf replied to Tyron's topic in News
Is there some way to intentionally make the books and scrolls stop spitting particles? I want to decorate my library with them and not have it covered in random particles. -
I didn't learn of the Dave name until after I already started calling him Geoffery amongst my friend group because he's like a big eldritch Giraffe, and we thought of Toys R Us.
-
honestly, for me the choice is Farseer. I tend to have my render distance just high enough to see Geoffery(The Thunderlord Mech), and then Farseer on top of that, it really makes the world look beautiful.
-
ooh, knowing that I guess my next world won't have rivers. Farseer is just so good to have.
-
ah, I did not realize that. Sorry @alberto_ascani if anything I said came off aggressive or confusing, as I know translation stuff isn't always accurate.
-
It's not that hard for me to talk like that though? Legit that just looks like a painted desert to me other than that one square area, plus I actually like the mountain in an earlier picture in the thread. That's just how the rock strata generates. There are plenty of other things I think could be improved in the worldgen, like adding Rivers and Waterfalls and stuff, which I think would go a long way toward making it better as a whole.

the picture just looks like a painted desert to me. the only major straight lines I see are, like they said, the bottom middle of the image.
-
I already added the drops back with my mod, 20% instead of the 10 I said here originally. If people want it I might make the drop% for the raw fish configurable in a future update, from 0-100%.
-
honestly yea, that mountain looks so good! I love how actually mountainous the mountains look in Vintage Story compared to a number of other procedural games.
-
honestly, if they are kept with a drop rate of 0, I may just add their drops back in my tweaks mod. Some of the decisions seem like they are there to promote grind a bit more than necessary to me, so I made my mod to help make some grindier parts of the game a bit easier, like tree seed drops, and monster loot, also to make some stuff react more like real life, like getting 4 sticks from a piece of firewood or beehive kilns being more durable.
-
This seems like an odd decision to do. I feel like they should at a minimum have a 10% chance to drop food, with a variance of up to dropping 2 raw fish, rather than no chance at all to drop anything. That would keep them as a less than ideal source of food compared to other fish and animals, without removing drops from them entirely.

not for a long time, we still have 6 more story chapters to get through, as far as I know. As far as the steam thing, see the FAQ
-
my point was more just that Chapter 1 is really short. Since it'll probably take you longer to find a trader, and then get to the treasure hunter, than to get to and clear the dungeon. I have occasionally had worlds where Traders were few and far between, so it took me a while to find one.
-
Do you have any of her other mods, or just that one? Idk if it could be Dana Tweaks, never fully looked into everything that the mod changes.
-
Chapter 1 is probably the shortest one to my knowledge, longest part of it is just finding a Treasure Hunter since CH1 is just one dungeon.

pretty sure there will be more and more Linux users as time goes on. I'm planning to switch to Linux at some point myself even.

Agreed, I want a pet bunny just to have a pet bunny. Foxes do have a job they could do as well with protecting farm fields from small critters that might eat crops. Some players already use them for this by catching a fox in the farmland.
