Yo OP. I have "Better Ruins" installed, which includes some 20ish blueprints used to craft (mostly decorative) items that can't normally be crafted, as well as some blueprints which are cheaper alternatives of vanilla blueprints. It doesn't exactly lock tech progression behind looting the blueprints, but it does provide some creative rewards for exploration and the feeling of gathering ancient knowledge used to construct the ruins you see around you.

Honestly, the mod that removes the player from the "hunt when hungry" list was enough to fix it for me. No complicated AI changes needed.
