  1. Thank you! I do have the flute and the medallion, so I should be good to go! Thanks!
  2. I want to take my new elk on adventures, but I'm concerned about its health when I do stuff like jump in a cave or sleep. Should I bring fences to make a safe perimeter to protect it? Will bears go after it?
  3. So I just want to make sure that everyone is experiencing chandeliers suddenly being noticeably different? I feel like the light isn't as bright as it used to be? If nothing else, it's definitely much yellower than lanterns are. Having an area lit by lantern and an area lit by chandelier next to each other makes the difference really noticeable. I'm not going crazy, right?
  4. I don't think there is any particular lore associated with this ruin. I've also found it. I just assumed that as things were getting grim/messed up as things were collapsing, that some people started engaging in strange practices. Maybe a little ritualism? Maybe a little human sacrifice? Who can say? I chalked it up to it being a time capsule of a weird time and a great source for resources.
  5. We're all excited for the update here and wound up gifting each other some Vintage Story items. I made the temporal gear and was gifted the cabbages in reed basket because I always get appropriately excited about finding cabbages, the most superior crop in the game. 20241225_102853.mp4 20241225_102741.mp4

    crocks

I have sealed crocks in a previously functional basement/pantry (basic 7X7X5 space). After the update, I see their time left dropping precipitously (I can mouse over the shelves and watch the numbers drop). Storage vessels in the same room appear unaffected. Is anyone else experiencing this?
  7. Can you really use leaded glass panes in a greenhouse?

    Wolf world

I realize I may have settled in a wolf chunk, but I feel like I spend half of my gameplay trying to control the wolf population. It looks like they spawn in larger groups consistently (~4 adults and ~3-7 pups), which I think makes sense and is good, but they seem to respawn way too quickly. Is this just me? Or is the wolf respawn rate crazy now?

    Bears

I just wanted to say that I LOVE the bears. I love the way they look, killing them feels like a real accomplishment, I love that they menace my livestock. There's nothing more chilling than poking around in a new area and unexpectedly hearing their bear noises. And the way they stand up on their hind legs? Perfect, adorable, almost makes me feel bad about trying to kill them. Bears, 100% A+, my new favorite creature!
  10. Is anyone else just not able to load the game after saving (endless load screen but the save file still indicates time is passing in-game)? I strongly suspect it's because my computer is ancient (seems to fit requirements but _is_ old), but it's still upsetting. Is anyone else having this issue, or should I just assume it's 100% my machine and screech like a feral creature before flinging my computer against a wall?
  11. I had 10L of cranberry wine, which I distilled to 3.57 L cranberry brandy. When I used a jug on the bucket of brandy, it turned into 0.57 L cranberry brandy and 3L cranberry juice. Not sure why.
  12. I came here to post this. I am currently spending a night inside a block while my health regenerates because I was knocked into a block by drifters. It's definitely saving my life right now, but I know it shouldn't be happening.
  13. Do ceramic blocks protect better? It's currently different types of cobblestone blocks. I added a torch in a holder, and while I haven't had any additional spawns, it still plays cave music.
  14. Thanks! I'll add more lanterns when my bees allow, hopefully that'll help!
  15. I have a standard cellar (7×7×4, all bricks cobblestone) with one door as an entry, lit by an unlined copper lantern on the ceiling. It is underneath my house. When I go in it, spooky cave music starts playing, and I have had a drifter spawn in it when temporal activity was medium. The cellar is directly under my storage room, my basement's basement. Is it simply too deep? I thought maybe the fact that the staircase down to it strays outside the house footprint underground might be the issue, but when I isolated the cellar from the staircase and just dropped a ladder down from the floor above, I still got the cave music. Any suggestions, or do I simply have a haunted basement?
