  1. I would say, this game isn't about how fast you can do something, but mostly about exploring. It needs some patience and time, then it will come "by itself", but patience is the key, I guess.

After 100 hours gameplay you will have seen so many copper spots, that you won't bother to even mark them anymore. ;)

(...and after 600 hours, I literally get bored about new copper spots)

So, go vintage and slow down!  :)

  2. Yep, one of the most important basics, namely "how to use the inventory and crafting grid", isn't described ANYWHERE! It's very frustrating for new players, and I also was nearly to give up for that reason. Only a YT player kept me in, as he explained these mechanics with "quite simple, same as in Minecraft". Well, not everybody has played minecraft, including me. I only found some explanation over there, at Minecraft...  Why the hell, WHY!? I'm not interested in Minecraft!!!  :)

It took me also nearly 100 hours to figure out, that you can SHIFT Click an item (stack) to another inventory.

And it took me over 400 hours to read a comment under a YT video, which said: You can exchange items with your offhand by the "x" key.

Hope, I could help at least you, or some other players here with these quite important infos.

BTW: Sliding down a ladder is done w/ pressing SHIFT.

  3. Sorry, but I can't see a single WALL(!) in your screenshot. Maybe you admit, that wall and fence are the same in game mechanics, but they're not. You can jump on /over a wall, but can't do that with a fence, which is much more "restrictive".

  4. 1.) I watched a VS series from Ashantin on YTube, where she killed a trader, because he was trapped between some blocks and his cart. Trader never came back....  :(

2.) No, the traders are just pissed, when you hit them with an item in your hand, especially hard punching with feathers is a personal insult to the males of them! :D But they are TRADERS, so they want to do business, therefor they accept a little punching here and then, and will forget about it a little later.

  5. How can we (s)melt bronze armor parts, which we get from panning bony soil, into an ingot? The mouse-over says: "will smelt into 1 ingot of bronze", but the crucible doesn't accept it. Putting them direct in the fireplace, tells me, that "You need a container like a crucible to melt it". So, what? I checked google and VS Forum, I asked Hypi (a pro VS player on YTube), but no solution were found or given.  :(

Any ideas, or anyone who knows, how to melt these items?

Edit: Okay, seems I need to make a chisel to break it into chunks, and then I can smelt the chunks into an ingot for making the chisel... Kinda "back to the future" loop, so need a time machine as well, just to do this simple task, I guess... :)

  6. I tried to "craft" a pan with one log and a knife in the crafting grid as shown in the handbook, but it doesn't show me a pan. Yes, I'm a newbie at this game, but after 50 hours play time, I crafted a lot of other things already w/o any problem, just the "magic" pan won't show up. I'm playing in warmer region, and tried with flint as well as copper knife and with a kapok wood log, which is the only one at this biome, besides bamboo.

Is it not allowed to carve pans from kapok wood? It would be a really important tool in early game as it's quite easy to make and use, but impossible for an old lady like me!  Why???!!! ;)
