Truly reminds me of some of the buildings in BG3 once you reach the 3rd act. Phenomenal.

Charred, burned, flame treated, whatever way you want to say it. Multiple countries outside of Japan have come to use this type of treatment on wood planks and structures as it prevents termites and other insects from inhabiting it. As well as having various insulation benefits. Overall it would mainly act as a unique visual flare in the game as it is, but I can see there being a few applications for the planks treated this way specifically. Its remarkably simple to accomplish in real life even, but the modern use is purely aesthetic. With varying levels of brushing the charcoal off to expose different patterns and designs, I think its something that would have minimal impact on the game, but would be something fun to include and it would introduce people who never knew about this technique to it as well. First forum post so if I've done something wrong here lemme know. Just thought this would fit well into the game.
