  1. That's pretty cool How exactly does this work? How will the game know where to place my old base in the new world? Is this in regard to exporting my base? I would usually agree, but my experience with this game has not been the best. I'm not that motivated to start all over again for several reasons. At this point I'd like to wait until there is an actual ending to this game. A vintage story that ends.
  2. That's the annoying part about games like these. It's a really challenging game, and it takes so much time and effort to just get to the copper age, at least if you are new to the game. And starting all over, if the game requires it, is just a bit demotivating. I will probably just be patient and wait for a full release, so I can start from scratch and finish the game. That way, I will not be forced to restart several times, while waiting for the full release.
  3. Hi So, I started playing around 27th of February 2025, and I played quite a while for around 1 month, before getting kind of tired of it. I'm wondering what would happen if I just keep playing the same world / save, going forward. What could happen to the world generation mechanics in the future that would affect my current save game? And could I basically just keep playing my current save game all the way to the full release of the game, without missing out on important stuff? I've heard they introduced oceans in 1.21 which didn't exist when I began. Can oceans still be generated in my world if I update it? And what if I travel far away from my base, somewhere where the map hasn't been generated yet? Will new things (from the current update) be generated there? In that case, I don't mind rebuilding my base in a new place, if that means that I can benefit from newly generated stuff and still keep my progress (items and so on).
  4. It's kind of hard to explain how, but let me try. There is nothing special about traders (for me) just being there inside their wagons. They don't seem interesting or even alive, for that matter. And still they remove that special sense of loneliness in this game. I think it's important to feel lonely and isolated in a hard survival game like this one. Plus, it doesn't even make sense that you have to struggle so hard to survive and make a simple fire, while a trader is just THERE, doing nothing, and having "everything he needs" to survive. Another thing that is annoying, is that the game encourages you to run from trader A, to trader B, to trader C - buying and selling things, before the item list is refreshed. In my opinion, that is a really bad game mechanic that simply has an element of FOMO in it. The trip you have to make to get to one of those traders - is not an easy one. And after a few times those trips stop being fun. Also, once you learn the system - who sells and buys what, then you can basically cheese the game, selling a lot of items and getting stuff and gears, easily. It removes the challenge of getting, finding or crafting those items, yourself. So, if you know a special few tricks, you can avoid a lot of hard work to get those items, yourself. Unfortunately I don't have a specific suggestion on how to fix this. If it was for me, I would choose a Vintage Story that doesn't have any traders, at all. I prefer to get my own materials, craft my own items and don't have any weird NPCs standing in their cozy little wagons, just being there in the middle of nowhere... forever. If anyone has specific suggestions, please write them here.
  5. Those events are sure annoying and pointless. There is no motivation in doing them when you can just: 1). Turn them off with a simple command or 2). Hide in a tight space until they are over. At least let us make some items or structures that we can place in our base to avoid those events when they happen - or when being near those items or structures, the event won't trigger (begin), at all. Also, it would make sense if those events made the monsters spawn outside your base. That way you could reinforce your base to prevent the monsters from getting in. And when the invasion is over you could repair the damages and make necessary upgrades to: doors, traps, spikes, walls, shooting things (like towers), and so on. And if you absolutely have to keep those events (storms) in the game, as they are, at least go and play some Valheim and learn how it is done properly. Because right now it just sucks big time - world-building / lore or not. Gameplay first, always.
  6. Hi What if we got another item like a propick but with earth/mud stuff. Could help to find fertility soil, peat, clay, etc. Could be called something like Sample Shovel. Just an idea.
  7. Anyone? Maybe something like this: EDIT: Nvm found a fix. Install Interfaces And Rainbows mod, go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\VintagestoryData\ModConfig\ConfigureEverything Open InterfacesAndRainbows.json Edit DialogSlotBackColor color to something like this: "DialogSlotBackColor": "#E7C8A7",
  8. Hi Is there a way to mod inventory slots to be a bit darker?
  9. Hi all Is there a way (or a mod) to drag and drop items from 1 slot to another? Right now I am clicking an item, mousing over to a new slot and clicking again. But is it possible to click and hold, mouse over to a new slot and release the mouse button to transfer the item?
  10. I agree. There should be a way to increase the font size, since reading text and learning game mechanics is such a crucial part of the game progression. I tried setting GUI size up, but at some point the GUI becomes too big for the screen, while the text remains almost the same.
