Yeah thats kinda what im thinking, I found a rift but there still hasn't been any hostile mobs spawning for me at night. However, there are hostile mobs in caves so I think ill be fine.

Im pretty new to this game and I started my first world a day ago. When creating the world I selected standard and set a 1 day grace period for monsters, ive played through atleast 5 days now and still havent had any spawn in. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to enable them somehow??? Please help as I dont really want to start over as I just progressed into the copper age.
