  1. Ah, so that's really all I needed to do, go far enough they de-render? I was mostly making improvements in my base, harvesting, making wine and beer and taking care of smithing, so I was homebound for a long while.
  2. Well, who would've guessed that going away for about an in-game week on an expedition and coming back will fix them. Case closed, they're pregnant.
  3. So as the title suggests, I spawned in animals. I did this way back when the trader update made us go into a new world cuz of a little change, so I did but I was very fond of my build so I decided to copy it with creative and plop it into my new world so I can continue playing with it and get all the new updates. Now the issue is, my animals didn't carry over, only the eggs survived the transfer, this might be an error on my end but oh well. So with creative mode I spawned back the amount I had, set their generation to what it was and now they don't breed. They eat and it says they're ready to breed but they never do it, I've had a good amount of gameplay afterwards and the only ones reproducing are the new chicks that hatched from the eggs with a fresh rooster I brought in. Is there an issue with spawned animals not breeding because they technically aren't wild animals with a pack? something in the code that's missing, or have I just done something wrong?
  4. No... it's all going to be alright, just... just look at the flowers.
  5. I would say that the initial learning curve is the only steep hill here, when you need to open the survival guide every other step and basically before you get clay. That's where the rough wilderness survival really only exists if you ask me... as soon as you reach the pottery age then you no longer get hungry as often and can already store food for long times. I went into the game blind the first time and my first couple of hours of learning were an exciting mess, but as you make progress and technology, yeah the challenge goes away. That's why when I had to start a new world due to the update that changed traders a little while ago (I've had about 200-ish hours of playtime at that point shared trough my solo world and the one I play with my friend), I decided to make the next world with a few more realistic settings. I made it so that I get cold when it's below 10 degrees C, made my tools have more durability... and a few more things. It hasn't impacted my experience much, but I have noticed that on longer exploration runs during winter, especially if night catches me, I will start getting cold, and I refuse to just dig myself into a 2x2 dirt pit and light a fire to get warm, I'll either get home or to a checkpoint with a fire, get into a cave and light a fire there or just make one wherever I need it (unless it's too windy or raining). So although I understand that it's not as hardcore as it might should have been, you can make the world more unforgiving when making a new one. If that's what you're looking for, you're able to make it here!
  6. Okay so, good news. Simply fill in the room with dirt or anything that's easy to destroy but doesn't let light trough and find the glitched light spots. Covering them gets rid of the underground daylight!
  7. I don't think that'd be the solution I'm looking for. Perhaps if a certain block is "glitched" into letting light trough, just filling the whole cave in or maybe replacing the stone blocks with a new copy of them might stop the light from being there. As for the command block idea, I might not want to get into that stuff since I'm pretty new to the game still and I'd like to go vanilla as long as possible without mods or commands. There's also the chance I'll trigger that music above ground too in my base with that and I'd rather not have that happening.
  8. I've dug out a cave under my windmill because I want mechanical power but I also want the cave ambience in my "lab"(which is why I'm digging a cave under my base) Now the problem happened when the game decided due to the axle's letting light trough to get rid of my ambient music down there... So I covered it up and I'm currently leading my axle's between the dirt further so I can get away from the natural light. But there's still some light in here without a reason for it being here, I covered up the holes, there's actually no light source and no air pockets... So why is there still some light and how can I get rid of it?
