You're right that just hiring more people would not help. And that's because the problem you are facing is a management and leadership issue. To be any faster and quicker, you would need to accept the fact you need a manager or project lead. Also, I'm surprised you don't see the contradiction between "Only the leadership gets to decide what to add" and "I still carefully review almost every game mechanic and code change that gets added to the game..." You already are doing what your team seem to be against. At this point, the only difference between having a manager do it instead of you is that you have someone else around.

Hello Feature Creep... No matter how good the intentions here, I don't see this benefiting the game. There's already plenty to do and add within the scope of the existing game. Those resources spent on a different team should be used to further existing development. Not for chasing some vague ideas and concepts that may not add anything of value to the game.

What I was thinking of is that you could put taps ONLY on trees that are already producing resin, then stick a bucket under them and it would passively accumulate up until the bucket reaches maybe 4 pieces of sap. The point of this is to remove the tedium of checking every resin leaking tree in your world every couple of days for maximum production, in return for a resource investment. If necessary, the tree tap could require iron so it's not readily available unless you are extremely lucky with your world generation.

Sorry for not noticing. How would this feature be out of place in the base game? You did not explain in your original response.

Straight from the front page of Vintage Story. Not just hardcore! Vintage Story offers multiple playstyles and a huge amount of customization options when you create a new game world. You have the power to choose a creative experience, a peaceful world, balanced survival, hardcore wilderness survival or quite literally anything inbetween. Options are good. Especially if it means allowing more people to enjoy the game. Now if merely having Knapster as an option in the base game would destroy your enjoyment of Vintage Story, even if you choose to play without knapster, then the problem was not with knapster or Vintage Story.

There's a tree tap mod which lets you stick a copper tap into a resin producing tree, then stick a bucket under it. Over time, the bucket accumulates resin until it is full. The refill time for resin remains unchanged, but this way you wouldn't have to check every single resin tree every couple of days to get a piece of resin.

I've never actually gotten to steel since I was content with iron tools. So, I'm curious how much harder this would make steel production?

With the recent coral reef addition, fishing or diving for goods would be great. It's weird that so much of the water content is only decorative.

I'd like to see more "dejank" and additions to some existing content. I've already got a list of things I want to see Metal and clay stoves for improved cooking. They could have more cooking slots and better heat retention than a fire pit Ways to cultivate mushrooms and herbs at your base Ways to passively collect resin or bulk collect it. Some sort of reusable bloomery with greater capacity More weapon variety: two-handed weapons, pole-arms, dedicated throwing weapon, another type of bow, Temporal storm overhaul: Ideally, it should give us a good reason to fight through all the enemies and ways to avoid it beyond sitting in a hut for 15 minutes Better class balance. Clockmaker and Tailor still feel too weak compared to the other classes Greenhouse overhaul: More freedom in making a greenhouse, and ways to adjust its heating. Maybe openings to keep it cooler, and more glass = more heat retention? And yes, I'm aware some of these ideas already exist as mods.

There are many small issues I have with this game, and they've been only growing as you add more content. Right now, it's vital you stop to consider all the QoL and not so little things people have wanted.

Max FPS has been funny to me. It seems to always set it lower than what it says. I set it to 90 max FPS, and it stops at 70. I set it to 60 max FPS, it goes to 30. I set it to 120 FPS, and it's still at 70 FPS.

I've got a greenhouse with some Parsnips in them. I planted them in but after several days they stopped growing and haven't progressed. Now they're stuck at stage 1-3. Any idea what's wrong?

I thought finding imbalances and issues is what we were for? -

Really liking the increase to resin spawn chance. They've been a major bottleneck for my resources. -
These don't really fit in a category, but here we go. Please let Shift + Right Click with a cooking pot on a fire spot place the cooking pot in Please speed up removing cobblestone stairs so they are as fast as removing full-size cobblestone blocks (Or maybe I'm crazy and just imagining this?) Please let rough-hewn gates open in all directions, not just towards the North or West Please change rough wooden doors to not have a chance of breaking and falling onto the ground

Javelins would be a good addition to the game. I almost exclusively use using spears for throwing, especially since they last longer than arrows. If you are up to try a mod, there is the WeaponPack mod (https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/445) that adds Throwing Spears and Heavy Spear as dedicated throwing or melee variants of the spear.

Well when you migrate Vintage Story to Cloud computing, allowing for Metaverse integration, 5G connections, and start shilling out those NFTs for their definitely awesome Blockchain techniques, then I'm sure all those bugs will go away -

I feel like the answer is really obvious, but I don't know how to dry the longbow stave. How do you dry it?
