Speaking of rivers, the vanilla setting has no way to generate anything similar to a river. You'd better get the mod "River".

Well...if you do not know, eating a meal gives your character a time period of "satiety safe," which is why it is highly advised rather than eating raw or simply roasted if the situation allows.
The time of the period depends on the satiety recovered by the meal, though the exact formula is not remembered for now, 30 minutes looks quite close to the maximum.

17-27C through the whole July? That seems a bit cool considering July is the hottest month according to wiki and also my personal experience. Currently, I am into the third summer at the end of July and the max temperature is already over 32C. And my place is full of snow everywhere before December. So if your area is not arid but with common rainfall, snow is assured.
