  1. So I have a server, and long ago I messed with time-scale in the settings. Both try to make the crop be fresh longer, and I wanted the summer to last a little longer for me and my friends.
After the new patch I wiped the server, but FORGOT to change the values in the settings on the server interface. So I got 31 days long months now on the new setup. We have come quite far in finding a good place, and coppar smelting and growing food.
But the food does not get ripe to harvest, so I remember that I messed with the time. So I change back the months to be 12 days again, both in server settings and as a admin command ingame.

Then I quit the game and restarted my server. And when I logged back in, I moved time foward to MAY 1, so the new settings will kick in. But now I see it is MAY 15, and the crops still won't grow.
Can I fix this somehow? To get back to vanilla settings, and still keep everything we have build so far? The other players will kill me if I say we have to wipe the server....

So please, if anyone have knowlegde of this problem, and might be able to help me?

    Thanks in advance! :)

  2. So now after some experiments I can confirm 2 things. The wild bear we caught in a pit, have now a friend. 2 bears in the pit.

We have done some testing. Bears can jump 1,2 and 3 blocks. But only blocks. Like a dirt-wall. But not 4. And when it comes fo fences, they did not jump over a 1-high-fence. But the bear is smart, if they find something to climb next to a fence, the could use that to jump over. 😂

So they are tricky. AND they can "target", hit and kill something, if it is only 1 fence thick.

I almost got killed by just standing there, and watching the bear.

I hope some of this information could be helpful for any farmers out there....

    😉

After playing awhile in survival, I did have a bear jump three blocks high while trying to kill me. So yes, maybe your theory could be correct. Sadly only the developers really know for sure. Bears have not be documented much on the wiki. Bears appear to be a lot more complex then I originally thought. The wiki page on them should seriously get updated.

Edit: Watch out for the bear in your trap. If it is only three blocks tall, it can potentially leap out.

I am glad that you picked up on this. I don't mind the bears being more agressive or dangerous. It is really cool if they behave diffrent when they are hungry or well fed. I guess that is a "mirror" from the wild how it works. But if someone have spending liturally MONTHS breeding sheep or whatever, and bears can "jump" and kill, it is a little sad. My friend had a bear inside his pig-farm. The bear managed to kill all the pigs, except 2 sows. Luckly they are pregnant, and might give birth to both sows and boars. They are high level.
Still, me and my friends are HUGE fans of this fantastic game!  :)

  4. My friend just said he encountered a bear north of our "base", and the bear were in a small pit. My friend quickly put soil around, so the bear was trapped in a pit 2 blocks deep.

And the "blackbear", actually jumped out to attack him. He managed to run around the pit, getting the bear to fall inside again, and put up so it was 3 blocks high, and now the bear was trapped.

You who wrote you cold not replicate this in creative mode. I was thinking that maybe "our" bears was starving, and you spawned a "fat" bear?

    :)

  5. Don't get me wrong. I love more dangerous animals, and I live all the bears addition.

But we had to build tripple high fences, and even double thick fence.

We found dead pigs outside the fence, believing that a bear could "target" a animal from outside, and "drag" the poor thing through the walls.

It said "killed by Predator" "partially eaten" or something like that.

I will have a close eye on next time, a bear comes.

We just hate the fact that we spend so much time to get our animals to high level.

  6. Since the introduction of the new AI and bears, we have been having problems on the server.

Me and my friend have been having sheep, pigs and hens.

Months of playing to get them to high levels.

And now bears can jump over double fences, and even 'target" animals outside the fence.

Bears kill fast, and we had no chance to save a few high level animals.

Is this a bug, and have anyone else been experiencing the same thing?

  7. So my question is about how long does your bags and inventory despawn after death? Me and my friend lost quite some hard obtained gear, due to quick de-spawn.

Are there a timer? Can I change it? On the other hand, we have seen stones from mining laying on the floor for days, but not when it comes to your stuff after death.

Thanks in advance for any answer! ❤️

  8. So I'm starting a new single-player game. And after just seconds, I am kicked out, with the error message "Out of disk space".

I cleaned up my c-drive a little, and I have a little more then 9GB free space. Is that not enough?

I still keep getting "shut down" from single player... Anyone else have this, and know of a solution?

    Thanks in advance! ❤️

  9. I have 2 buckets and 1 barrel filled with honey (70 liter). The beehives are underground, and a bit away.

I have 20 skeps, and the bees are thriving underground. I did put in tons of flowers, so each skep have access to 35 flowers, and also some oil-lamps and lanterns.

I have never tried it, but I think it can work. Flowers can be planted in planters and there is nothing saying bees need to be outside; the wiki just says bees need to be able to path to the flowers. Flowers do not grow (except horsetail, kinda) so I doubt they need sunlight.

Give it a go, but I would ensure to build it in an enclosed room.

SUCSESS!!!   I managed to move a wild hive into a skep, and place it in a underground meadow. They got plenty of flowers and even more empty skeps. Now they will swarm in 1 day, and I am excited to see how large farm I can keep.

The thing was that me and my friends, started on the server on a summer. And we made a few flint-tools, exploring, treasure-hunting and chasing butterflies. And when fall and winter came, we got punched in the face, how hard survival really are......  And now it is about to be spring again, and NOW we concentrate on food-preserving, and build up stock to survive next hard winter!  :)

I just love the toughness of this game!

  11. Having a healthy bee farm indoors? Is that possible? Me and some friends just survived the long and dark winter, and now we wanted to be even more prepared for next winter to come. We just found salt, and we need honey and wax too.

Anyone have experience with indoor beekeeping? We want to harvest wax during winter too....

  12. I am a new player, and I must kick off by saying that I LOVE this game! Truly a hard game. This is what I define as "survival" + "open world" + "free roam". Thank you dev's and all ppl who make mods and ppl who help out lost newbies like myself!  Thank you all!

I do have some things I would like to hear ppl opinions on (vanilla), and if you agree?

    * The drifter's spawn inside our buildings, and I was hoping that light would keep them away.

    * There are massiv hords with drifter's outside who growl so much it is getting annoying. It is even worse then deers in valheim.....

(i don't mind fighting the monsters, but the things I said above, is a little too much for my taste.)

    * Fishing. I would like to have fishing applied. With rod, trap or net. That would be awsome!

    * Be able to drown. I guess that is something that will put more depth to the game, and perfect with a combination with underwater caves, with loot?

As I said, I love the game, and will be playing hundres of hours on my server, with my friends!

    Thank you all!

    :)
