could it be because the floor is clay? that's probably not helping

i've built a kiln with multiple objects inside of it, and it consistently only finishes firing about 2-3 of them and then the rest of them go out. why's it doing that? this is the first time i've had this happen to me. is it because i built it too close to a glacier? is it too big?

I made a cool little windmill house after learning how wind power worked. my last save was a separate windmill from my house and i didn't like running back and forth all the time so i combined them into one. i also spent way too long chiseling the staircase in the middle
