  1. Just lost at least 30 trunks of stuff in the attic (basically everything from a 3 ingame year playthrough except ore which was stored somewhere else) due to a slightly misplaced cursor lighting the counter on fire instead of the cooking pot. Couldn't put it out so my programming of indestructible terraria chests and fireproof minecraft chests told me to just wait and replace the floor. Until every single shelf, barrel, trunk, etc in the house broke and dropped all my stuff to the ground. Was only able to make 4 trunks and store that much before my whole playthrough worth of stuff despawned. Lesson learned but considering how harsh I was punished I'm probably never gonna play on a server with fire spread again.
  2. 100 hours into the game, I've almost to steel and almost have a cementation furnace ready, but as I'm making more iron I'm getting worried about my black coal stash. I almost ran out before I did the first story chapter and grabbed all the black coal from the archives. I have 20 brown coal stacks thanks to massive deposits in the nearby claystone biome, and I've been using that for most fuel purposes, but I can't use it for bloomeries. Only black coal, and I haven't had any luck finding some even when following the propick to black coal locations. Is there a better method for fuel I should focus on like coke (which doesn't seem worth it since the wiki says it'll take 1 coal stack for just 8 coke pieces) or charcoal, which I haven't invested in much due to how quickly my iron axes break, and I need wood for finishing my windmill and leatherworking. I haven't found anthracite before so I don't know if thats an untapped option. At the moment I have 3 stacks of black coal but I'm sure I'll need of an alternative or a better resupply method for when I begin steel making. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. TLDR - Black coal is finite, I can't find more so I need tips before I burn it all on iron to begin steelmaking.
  3. Darn, the guide made it sound like the damage would reverse once the temperature went up. Good to know at least.
  4. 100 hours into my first world, finally got a beehive kiln to get better roofing. If I had screenshots of the previous dirt hurt version I would've posted them to show my progress, hope to get better to make it way more detailed since it still looks pretty basic.
  5. Oh THAT's the button, I've been having the complete opposite issue where I've been stuck in fullscreen since I started. Thank you.
  6. I planted my crops too early and due to the temperature fluctuating between below and above 0 degrees my plants were able to grow but kept taking cold damage. The turnips are now at 5/5 but still have the "will only yield 50%" text. If I continue waiting instead of harvesting can I get more or will cold damage not go away since the crops fully grown?
  7. Of course as soon as I post this I find some. Turned out to be way closer to my base than I expected (around Z -740 if that helps people determine a good temperate area, unless world gen is too different). The deposits are only 1 block deep so I was only able to spot it by the block ui, since the grass is also identical. I was originally digging holes thinking it'd be the layer under.
  8. I found high fert soil once while wandering north of my base but my game crashed before I could save the location, and when I checked where I couldn't find it. I've been checking temperate rainy areas for multiple ingame days and genuinely can't find a single block of it.
