  1. Might not be much of a Hero but I have a barrel of brine in my house if that helps.(this will pickle my first harvest)
  2. Oh before I forget. Some of you might wonder how does one manage to spend almost until winter not even building a farm and only running around? I have been on a quest for my most prized treasure so far. After having traveled almost 3000 blocks in almost each direction from home I found it after several desperate days of mining and coming up with nothing. This small hut stands as my outpost to the mine of my greatest find. SALT I have spent most of my days in pursuit of this white gold and what I found here shall last me a life time.
  3. My trips to the vulcanic basalt wastelands in the south have left me with enough obsidian to not just build the tools that defended me for the majority of the year but also enough to spare for some comedy. (as seen in one of my earlier posts) While it could be seen as an attempt to visit other worlds it is no server it refuses to open and I remain alone here with naught but a stylish good rock for company.
  4. Hello to whom ever finds this. It has been a while since I came here. Not long for you perhaps but it as been a year for me in this world. And that is exactly why im writing to you today. Because today marks the day where I have survived and flourished in this world for a full year and I wanted to show you how far I have come in my adventure. This small hut is where it started. Built from the cobbled remains of my first ruins it was as much as a home as I could have managed at the time. It was just a 3x3x3 with an open side, not even a door, just enough space for a makeshift bed to keep me, my firepit and meager collection of personal items out of the rain. And it rained a lot. Aside from the rain on nights that were particularly bad with the creatures of the dark I had to board my entrance with dirt just to keep safe. Thankfully I have gotten past those days and have transformed the small hut into what is now my smithy where I forge my tools. I've been on copper for most of the year until finding tin during a random cave dive. Not much but enough to make something that lasts and even an extra pick to pursuade a local to tell me about a location of great significance. What that location holds however I have yet to discover. For most of my time I have lived off the land in my small and increasingly cramped box. Unbothered by the weather and unthinking of the food I would need. Meat cooked and eaten quickly with berries around every corner. It was already autumn and I have spent my time exploring rather than building for the future. But I realized I may have been reckless in this way of life. Winter was approaching fast and berries would not help me last through the winter, so not only would I have to put more meat on the table, I would also need a proper place to store it and for me to brave the cold if I wanted to make it through this. So mere days before the first snow fell I started the construcition on what should become my proper home in this place. At first just a ground floor.and a stairway into the ground to be my cellar. I had not begun working properly on a forge yet either so to keep the cold out for now I had to settle with a door I had bought from a Trader in the forest. Food was the greatest concern. All the meat I managed to hunt went into filling and sealing crocks now and at first the door was dedicated for the cellar to make sure it lasts while the front door was crudely put together from sticks. A measly bit of grain I found while exploring and a couple logs with sealed crocks on them where all had to show for when winter came. I feared for my survival and my stomach regularly growled at me. I thought I had made a mistake that would cost me dealy with my supplies seeming to get used up slightly faster than I could manage to restock them. And at the mere cost of being outside in the cold I thought I would not have enough to just stay indoors all winter. Something had to be done. It began with the quick remodelling of the freshly abandoned small home. I needed a forge to properly work on my home so it can keep me alive. Tools were made to facilitate just that. Shelves to better store food. And doors to properly keep out the cold. And the time that was not spent building was spent on gathering what little sustinance can be found in the cold. Proper hunting is tough when most of the large animals are nowhere to be seen and foraging for the last mushrooms in the snow was a race against the clock. But the future was looking brighter than I could have anticipated. Through good effort and a great helping of luck I got the survival aspect covered for now and food was at a stable supply. Stable enough that I found myself with time on my hands that I didn't think I could have in the winter. So I got to work doing more. It started with leather work. A few barrels outside for the start. Eventually with the proper completion of the house after completing the roof it moved inside into my new attic.Which like my forge has become my new workshop. The pelts I had until that point served well to keep me warm but something to guard myself against the hazards of the world would be made here along with more of the utensils a proper home would need like more pots, plates and anything you could imagine bulding with clay. And it was in this workshop that I made a new friend. You might call me a crazy person to consider the company of a carved rock to be comforting but it is a very good rock. Chiseld from a block of Bauxite Fauxite this friend was made. Though a faux fox it may be and even if its stoftness pales in comparison to the wild animals outside this one was special to me. And so this Rocky Fauxite Fox shall be my companion for the times to come. Home... This wasn't just a house anymore. Day by day it became not just just housing to shield me from the elements. It became something to call home. It was in the harshest of seasons but by the end of it I was not just surviving. I was beginning to thrive! On The winter was ending and my dedication was rewarded with another stroke of luck. In my exploration of a massive cave close to home and nearly getting lost and almost perishing in it twice I found an enormous and rich vein of magnetite iron. Going from struggling to make copper and having only the most valuable of tools made from the tinned bronze while most of my tools were still fashioned from stone and obsidian, I had immediately made the move to a full set of iron tools. And not only do I still have ore to spare after my long nights of forging, I still have yet to deplete the vein I have discovered. And there we are. The last month before the year has finished was my most productive so far. So lets take a look at what the place looks like now: . I have managed to gather a couple chickens. At first just one but by now they total three. They are still nervous around me but shall assist me in my endeavours of not starving so I will take care of them as best as I can. I have also begun farming and planted what shall soon become my very first harvest. Along with making the place look more lively using the forge and tools I have at my disposal now I made some large lanterns to help brighten up the place and guide my way home like a beacon when I'm out in the dark. My winter supplies are still fresh so I am still free to put in more work for a while before having to be worried about stocking up again. The plains are a little scarce for scenery but I will transform this land into a place not just worth living on but one that is enjoyable to live on. They have unfortunatly not sprouted just yet but my home will soon be circled by the vibrant red of crimson maple trees and a small forest to the side to keep me supplied with plenty of lumber. And here is some of the treasures I have acquired in my time so far. A couple days and nights have been spent panning the soil of lost ruins among a beach worth of sand. I have found many a shiny jewel like emerald, peridot and even a diamond or two which I have sold to the locals leaving me with just the essentials of precious metals I hope to use in the future. And my brush with the monsters has left me with more of the temoral gears than I know what to do with. Those will not be my only treasures though. The gears will get me far. And with survival being covered I can set my sights on heading far far north to explore a location of signifficance mentioned by local treasure hunters. So now we are at present time. My adventure will continue on and there is still much left to see. But for now it is a farewell. May you prosper in your adventures too, just as much if not more than I have prospered in my time here. ~ Arikardo I have unfortunately not taken enough pictures during the survival and construction phase to properly show off the full journey but this will have to do
  5. Jonas Falx... Oh this gives me a great idea! Im gonna build my next friend out of gears. He will be as big as bigfoot (gearfoot). And I shall send him out to All other worlds to find more friends. If you stumble upon gearfoot that means my endeavor was successful!
  6. FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK IT IS SO GOOD IT IS DRIVING ME MAD (might just be a heavy temporal storm tho) FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK FOX ROCK
  7. Since there's no way to tame me a companion (well unless I get mods to tame some doggos), so I decided to build a companion myself. A rock might be a bid hard for company but it will keep my heart warm in the freezing cold of the winter. So there it is. My chiseled voxel fox friend.
  8. They went through the forbidden portal when you weren't looking.
  9. Got the obsidian for a nether portal. Guess a campfire doesn't count for lighting it..... and im too far away from making steel to even attempt to make flint and steel........
