it would be nice for it to have an actual status effect. (like "soaking wet") after a higher level of consumption sleep and get the hung over effect. periodic low damage like hunger, maybe?
here is an idea, what if you had the option to tie the amount of lives you have to the spectral gears. i.e. {you enter the world with no respawns, get lucky with a drifter drop, acquiring a spectral gear and now if you use it to set your returning point you have a extra life.}
