It's one of those cellar things where the walls, floor and roof must be stone or dirt.
As per the Handbook "Build cellar walls from soil, brick or stone materials."
Your main enemy though is sunlight, so building it a few blocks down helps.
Professor Dragon.
Huh. Could've sworn it just needed to be insulated blocks... though that explains a bit. I'll have to rethink my floor. Thanks!

yeahhhh that's fair.

I prospected around the area & found the local high point- I'm trying to figure out if the likelihood of there being more than one deposit is high enough to dig in the same general area. I think I will go ahead and dig around a bit more before going on another prospecting trip. One of these days I'll sit down with a spreadsheet & calculator and do the math...

I bought the game yesterday played for maybe 2 hours and most if it was spent troubleshooting.
The problem is that the game stutters and microstutters, I played on the High preset and I've tried both lowering and increasing the render distance because 256 blocks is not enough for me, didn't help lowering nor increasing. I'm using RTSS ato monitor FPS and frametime and the frametime graph is going crazy
My specs are:
RTX 3060 Ti
Ryzen 5 5600
G.Skill Aegis 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM
512GB M2 SSD Kingston KC3000
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this I'd appreciate it very much because I like the game and don't want to refund it
I had some similar stuttering issues when I first started the game (similar-ish specs- Ryzen 5 2400G, Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics, 32G RAM, 1TB SSD.) I found that most of the stuttering happened when loading new chunks, and it stopped almost completely when I'd been playing for a while and wasn't loading a bunch of new chunks in at once. Having a lower render distance at first helps, though it is pretty annoying when you're trying to explore; you can increase it without trouble once you've loaded the chunks for the first time. Putting the graphics on a lower setting and then manually setting the render distance also helped.

Why is it that wood has a negative impact on cellars? Curious as I used wooden slabs as my ceiling of my cellar/floor of the main house.

definitely didn't spend all my cassiterite on making tin bronze chainmail armor... I've prospected a high-density area of cassiterite, but since I've already mined there, I can't figure out if it would be worth it to dig again or go looking for another area. Any advice?
(also, the sound that chainmail makes when you walk is absolutely delightful. 100% worth it.)

I've tried to use the new(ish) Wooden Crate traps to catch some boar, and while the traps do activate, they then glitch out, turn invisible, and don't actually catch anything. I'm able to pick the trap back up and reset it, but every time it's triggered, it glitches. I am using some mods, so I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered similar issues with those mods, or whether it's a base game problem. The mods I'm using are:
https://mods.vintagestory.at/automapmarkers
https://mods.vintagestory.at/buzzwords
https://mods.vintagestory.at/hangingoillamps
https://mods.vintagestory.at/oneroof
https://mods.vintagestory.at/statushudcont
https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/3675
https://mods.vintagestory.at/windchimes
https://mods.vintagestory.at/zoombutton
Some of the mods are a little outdated, but still work as intended, and I don't think they would interact with the crate traps, but who knows? Is anyone else having this problem?

Anyone else having trouble with wooden crate traps?

the glitching out appeared to be a mod thing. not catching pigs was just... them being too big for the traps. Whoops.
