Rustage

I based it off the windmill in Kakariko Village in OoT (the 3DS ver), but im not satisfied with the end result.

I've been following a tutorial on windmills, specifically this one: https://youtu.be/4BXNRk5sej8?si=SHrwD3jsdMlAqgxK I'm not done yet but I was wondering why only having this setup (see image) doesn´t work, the hammer works for a second and then stops, I'd appreciate some insight.
