I just discovered the same issue. I went through so much troubleshooting to figure out what the problem was with me not seeing my hat, when friends could show theirs without issue. Right before asking the server owner to delete my player data, since we suspected desync issues, I take off my fur goat to store it and the hat appeared. The fur coat is indeed bugged.
