  1. When it comes to thirst, the first question should be: How often and when should the player drink? Taking drinks throughout the day? or would once per meal be enough? If the latter then somehow enhancing the meal (assuming the meal it's self is non hydrating) could be good enough. A radical idea might be to make it so Satiety doesn't instantly go up from eating a slice of pie. (You ever go out to eat, finish your meal, still feel hungry enough for dessert, but by the time its in front of you, you don't feel hungry anymore?) Like healing with a poultice you have to actually digest the food over time. Wet foods like soup and stew digest faster, while drier foods like charred pies, could take a bit more time, but that could be sped up with a refreshing beverage.
  2. Ive never attempted Ad-Hoc, since all my friends and I are many miles apart so we aren't exactly on the same LAN . (I use Linux, and my friends all use Windows) But running a dedicated server (turning it on/off when we are all online) we have done. Ive only hosted once though but I can connected to them plenty of times no problem once the server was set up right. - Which did take a bit of tinkering.
  3. Oh wow! This is great! Neat you can even right click the "Ingredient for" results too. I do seem to have a bug where the window keeps moving down and to the right every time you right click something. Not sure if thats a conflict with another handbook mod I have, or if its because I'm on Linux. But I'm genuinely thankful
  4. Ive kinda noticed, a lot of the default settings like hunger, tool durability, exc in this game are tuned for multiplayer. Where an axe breaking after a day of use isn't such a problem if you have someone who can spend a day making everyone's tools. But if everyones tools lasted a long time, things would get too easy too fast. Personally I turned up those settings in my single player world a bit to compensate. - Kinda like how some games will spawn more enemies, and bosses will have higher HP the more players there are. (but in this case inverted)
  5. Hello! I'm still fairly new to the game, (Currently making it through my first winter.) Something I do find rather confusing is the method the handbook uses to display when an crafting recipe has multiple valid objects you can use. - The item cycling. It works fine if technically any and every variation of an item is valid (Like how most 'logs' besides Aged make firewood.) But becomes rather confusing (and time consuming) when only specific variants are valid. (Stuff like, the valid Sand/Gravels for the fanned cobblestones.) While playing with friends multiple times we have had someone go something like "Oh it requires a bismuth bronze plate not a tin bronze one". Not realizing they were hovering over the recipe and so the cycling paused. I feel like this could be mitigated. Two ideas come to mind to solve this: An icon (like a white circle) in the corner of the objects to signify that other objects can take it's place. Ether clicking the icon, or maybe lower down showing the icon + all the valid objects. I made some crude mockups as a visual to what I mean..
