+1. This is also an issue when trying to make a total conversion mod to a setting that's not hardcore dark fantasy. In the meantime @Seven there's this mod, I haven't tried it yet but apparently it still works. https://mods.vintagestory.at/nightlight -
Have they stated why? Sounds odd not to add basic matchlocks or flintlocks, they would fit very well into the game both thematically and in terms of gameplay.
