Postpostings

Serious question: in 1.22 compatible with pre-1.22 worlds? I want to keep playing in my world, but 1.22 changes generation quite a bit and I'm afraid it will mess up my world. Also I have a story dungeon location given me by the treasure hunter in a chunk I have not yet explored, will it get messed up or will it generate okay? Should I just start a new world at this point?

Want to ask a few things regarding the upcoming 1.22 update, first how will it affect an existing world? Do I need to switch over or will it work like in minecraft where all your discovered chunks are intact and its just new chunks that change? Second, should I bother doing large scale exploration and story stuff or should I wait until update comes out?
