Hello!
I finally updated my client and server to 1.22.7, and ran ModsUpdater to get my server mods updated as well.
Now, when I try to join, my client gets stuck on the Connected to server, downloading data screen, and usually gets stuck around 4-7 kb downloaded. Meanwhile in the server terminal on the host PC, I can see that my client has long since been disconnected. My friends have no issues connecting.
After removing all mods/mod configs/save files from the host PC/server the issue persists, and it looks like I can join other's servers with no issue. Does anyone have any ideas for troubleshooting this? I'm happy to provide any server files if you tell me which ones are helpful!
Edit: Solved, it was a networking issue. My client PC and server PC are on the same network, and the issue was due to me using the public ip address. When I connected to the server through the server PC's ipv4 address (or used a vpn with the public address) it worked fine.
