  1. I would absolutely love this- maybe with a fat nutrition system. I feel weird just eating animal fat raw to free inventory space.
  2. Coppicing (cutting a tree down then letting it regrow from the roots) and pollarding (cutting a tree a couple meters high and letting it regrow) are age old forestry techniques which would be well practiced in the middle ages. My favorite thing in the game is farming and working the land, and this would really enrich it. There is plenty of demand for sticks and firewood, both of which are products from coppicing. Additionally, pollarded trees are iconic and I would love to have them in front of my house (rather than having to chisel them). How I imagine this would work is similar to the sapling growing process. For pollarding you cut the tree at the four block up, then right click on the third block with the knife to let the game know you've pollarded the tree. Then, after say 30 days the shoots regrow and then you can harvest them. For coppicing you cut the tree at the second block up and right click on the first block to let the game know you've coppiced the tree. After 30 days shoots regrow, and 30 days after that you could have a coppice ready for firewood. cutting thinner trees means more even firewood, thus it should not need to be split again into firewood. This means a very ecologically sound method of getting firewood, similar to growing crops. In fact, I would coppice a plot much the same way I grow crops, then make charcoal each time I harvest it. An added benefit from adding this feature would be teaching people about ancient forest management techniques. An additional item that could be produced from this technique would be say willow fronds, which could be used as a supplement to growing cattails. This would be useful in weaving baskets in general, but especially in beekeeping. I find I have to use From Golden Combs to keep up with production, and coppiced willow regrowing say every thirty days would allow for me to use skeps without drawing too much on the surrounding land. Additional request- make walnut trees toxic to farmland within 5-10 blocks, I have had to move my garden at home due to walnuts. I would also love to make Nocino liquor from walnuts harvested in game. https://midwestpermaculture.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/sketch-coppice-pollard.jpg Thanks!
