  1. Oh absolutely, custom presets are a must, allow sharing them easily as well so that you can challenge your friends to see how long they last in your super omega harsh frozen earth deathworld, or export them between your other installations more easily.
  2. Yeah I agree, door durability feels like an odd mechanic, but it also shouldn't just break IMO; I think using percent chances for this is bad, RNG likes to mess with me here; Not to mention the fact that the rough fence gates never break and work just as well as the door in question.
  3. I feel like I'm placing it back in its spot more than I am actually using it, it breaks way too much. I get that maybe it needs some balance to set it aside from normal doors, but I feel this would be better represented with material cost than having it literally fall apart half the time; Or at least lower the chance of it doing so by a good amount.
  4. I'd love to see mushroom cultivation, that could lead into some proper cave farming for once; Imagine using the rot you collect from your spoiled food to cultivate new food in the form of mushrooms, it'd form a new way to process waste material like that. And mushroom cultivation appears to have been around since the BC's in china so its def not out of the scope of the game. Though I have to mention some oddities to your suggestion, in game currently all the mushrooms spawn on grass which poses a problem, how is it going to interact with that? Will the mycelium exist under the grass? Are you expecting a mycelium grass block? as for digging it up I'm not sure the holding shift method is good, I feel there's a more elegant solution, maybe the player could hold right click to harvest it with the right tool like berry bushes and resin from pine trees which would turn the mycelium back into a dirt block and also give you a chance to get an item that lets you create a new mycelium block. How big would you expect general mycelium networks to be as well, if a player digs down I doubt they should be swarmed with mycelium despite the fact that in forests it is everywhere so its not that simple of a suggestion to get right but it is one I like.
  5. I can certainly agree to land height for flat worlds, sometimes you want to go down with your builds too, and raising the land everytime you want to do that can be a little impractical. Not sure how the time options would work though, would it like just be an option to have it fixed at noon?
  6. I can see merit to having alternatives even implemented in the base game. Most abstractions that could potentially come around against realism are already circumvented or can be circumvented, effectively to go fully vegan in the game currently you'd have to stop killing animals and give up eggs, Wool and dairy aren't even in the game yet, and would probably not be crucial either. Essentially this suggestion currently could be boiled down to an alternative to backpacks (making them a sidegrade ideally?) and allowing gambeson to be used as a base for armor, or some other flax based armor that can be used as a base for chainmail. Truth be told, this wouldn't be so hard to mod, but I would not be against seeing this in the base game.
  7. The point I was making was more related to veganism being a "rather new" idea, whereas in history the idea of not harming animals where possible has been one for many years. I won't deny that veganism as it is today with even minimizing or eliminating the use of animal products like wool and milk is a relatively new one, but vegetarian ways of life have been a thing for years. So all I am saying is that non animal alternatives may not be a problem to the integrity of this games image, most of the work is already there anyway, protein can be gotten from soy beans which are already in game and leather is not required to progress with the exception of the creation of armor and Backpacks. And then even from a gameplay perspective it would make for some replay value potentially.
  8. Jainism has been around for as early as 900 BCE (well before the iron age in many places.), one of the core tenets of Jainism is nonviolence, animals included. I don't think there's really much historical concerns here.
  9. Currently there's no way to eat eggs without making them part of a recipe for as far as I know, there's a boiled egg item in the game but I don't know if you can actually obtain this right now
  10. Some form of water movement would allow the creation of soup before getting access to saws, which is something you can't do right now which is kind of silly. It would be nice if the clay pot itself could hold water even when not present on the firepit
