One of the best early access purchases I've ever made. Developer is extremely receptive to the community and open about progress with the game. I've put almost 200 hours into this game over the past 3 years and despite this being by a smaller indie dev, the updates to the game easily outclass Minecraft's updates. Strongly recommend.

Saw this game for the first time on tiktok and then I immediately bought the game.

I have played for 7 hours and its already my favorite.

Amazing and life changing

Brilliant game! Where do I start:

The crafting mechanics are amazing, and I love how every material has a way to be shaped into what you want, from stone tools, to pots and forging!

I love how the world interacts with itself and the player! Animals hunt animals, wolves stay in groups and will get aggressive if you go near them, some game will try to defend itself from being hunted, other animals will want to eat your crops and more.

Speaking of crops, the farming in this game is in depth. You can't just plant wherever and whenever. You will want a fertile soil, you should see if it lacks any nutriens, if it's moist, if it's too cold or warm, nutriens will get exhausted and should replenish over time.

Mining is the next big thing because you'll need to prospect for the ores you need. It's not as simple as games like minecraft, where you find iron and you're set, it'll be long before that happens in this game! One of the game's main aspects is the ages you go through, like copper age, which is hard enough to get to, but oh so rewarding when you're there. Every accomplishment in this game feels amazing because you've worked so hard for it!

And the final thing I want to note is how polished this game is! I haven't encountered a single bug yet and everything just works as it is supposed to! I love how the developers aren't rushed to develop the game and therefore offer a refined, yet "unfinished" product. I can't wait to see what comes next in the VS universe, kudos to the devs, this game deserves more attention! 5 stars experience!

The game feels, so vibrant, alive, beautiful sounds and graphics, amazing performance for such a game.

Lots, and LOTS of things to do. Where do I even begin?

The modding community is very nice. Tons of impressive mods that I already use.

I can see myself play this game for hundreds of hours to come.

Got this game 4 days ago and I love it at first your going to struggle but it gets better overtime would recomend.

Es un juego bastante complicado y laborioso, sin embargo, que esto no te engañe. Es un juego bastante divertido, y cada vez que logras realizar tu objetivo es bastante gratificante.

Posee un sinfín de mecánicas, lo que lo hace bastante entretenido y te da bastante hrs. De diversión, frustración y entretenimiento; a la vez que vas aprendiendo algunas cosas. En pocas palabras es un juego 15/10, por lo que esta 200% recomendable

When I first saw this game, I wasn't sure what to think. It was voxel based, and had a sort of weird crafting system, while also paying some minor amount of lip service to lovecraftian influences.

After a few years of playing this game on and off, I can safely say my idea of what this game is has developed greatly. The game is not perfect, and it doesn't pretend to be; it has a few rough edges that are being worked on as I type this out, and you may occasionally find performance issues, or the odd rare bug; however, you can mod the hell out of this game and really experience no issues so long as you're smart about it. The developers used to be mod makers, and as such the level of mod compatability is off the charts. This means that not only do you have the tons of content the developers put in, but also the Googleplex of tons of content that mods can provide. You enjoy modding minecraft? Well welcome to that, but on some as yet unnamed stimulants that the World Health Organisation advises caution in taking.

That's not to put down vanilla! Just playing utterly unmodded can still have a playthrough time of hundreds of hours, even when you are rushing the objectives. If you're looking for a game to scratch that itch that "Primitive Technology" leaves in your gut, then this is absolutely that game.

This is "basically" that-block-game, but it's taking itself fully seriously. If you like that-block-game but want something different and more serious, Vintage Story is likely what you'll like. The main selling point is the wilderness survival aspect, and you won't be disappointed if that's something you like.

Pros: Literally everything listed on the site (the features). Serious wilderness survival that is realistic. Mods can expand the existing systems greatly. Mods rarely break.

Cons: A little grindy and tedious in some ways, but far less than that-block-game-everyone-knows-about when compared. The performance is sketchy, and requires you to host a local server to get the most out of your system (though I'm sure that will be changed/fixed eventually).
