Single Game Account

This is the game that I've been looking for; ever since I played Minecraft like ten years ago and thought "not too shabby, but it just doesn't quite scratch the itch I have". I've bought a substantial chunk of games during that search; some came close (like Voxel Turf), some were total crap splatters (like Blockscape and Rising World). On January in 2020, my search was finally over when I found Vintage Story. So, this is more of a thank you to the devs rather than like a review with little bullet points and whatnot. This is the game that I've told every gamer I know about.  

Beautiful game. Awesome dev team that updates the game and interacts with and listens to the community. And the fact its super easy to mod is just a huge plus for me

The graphics are beautiful and the mechanics are new and good, the game has great potential, and I hope it is not wasted ... The game was worth every penny, but it still has its limitations, and as I said, there is still a lot to evolve ! but if you like games with Voxel style and a unique experience, you will probably love this game! some parts of the game I don't like much, but I believe it will improve ... What I like most about this game is the affection and the incredible community, playing with friends makes everything better!

Absolutely fantastic little game based on certain Minecraft mods, with, in my opinion, far more potential. I'm very excited to see where it goes, but even where it is right now, it is well worth the price.

On the first day, I was skeptical. After the whole mess what happened to CubeWorld and the huge disappointment, I was way more careful with building up hype for games in development. 

On the second day, I was becoming more and more interested. Could this game really be a modern, 3D-version of good old UnrealWorld? A realistic, "minecraft-like"-game with immersive mechanics and a huge rewarding feel after passing through gamestages?

On the third day, I did it. I purchased the game, it looked so promising, I simply had to try it for myself. That was exactly one week ago now, and I didn't regret this choice for a single minute, playing every day since then and having a huge blast.

Now this was little bit picked with references to other games, and I don't mean to offend other developers or advertise for other games, but for the sake of making your own decision if you want this game, I find it helpful to have a few comparisons. One thing very unique here for an early access title is its high playability at this early stage, and that mostly bug-free. I myself encountered very very few minor bugs or things I think could/should be tweaked a little, for example a thrown spear sticking in the ground that can continue to hit mobs and sometimes yourself if you walk into it. (For a fun fact, this actually saved my life a couple of times) Nothing gamebreaking and most importantly, no crashes at all! Just a very short freeze once, which resolved itself after a few moments. The developers here are truly meaning what they say in the descriptions. 

As of now, version 1.14 already feels like a complete game in a way. The downside is, now that I delved into it... I can't get enough! I am now addicted to checking these forums each day to check for new updates while speculating/imagining what the full, complete game will look like. If it continues in any way like it did so far, this will become a unique masterpiece.

Thank you for this wonderful gaming experience! I am looking forward to many more weeks/months and even years of amazing fun and joy with this game.

One last bit of references if you should get this game or not: If you find the survival aspect in minecraft too easy and lacking realism and want it to be more like UnrealWorld and Don't Starve, but imo in a better way than Don't Starve did it - try it out. You can refund within 2 weeks or 10 hours of gameplay (whichever comes first, check refund policy) and that is really enough to determine if you like it or not. It is different than minecraft, considerably harder at certain stages, but you also won't be occupied with managing your survival and food all the time as the only thing you do. I find it very balanced in that point. Food will always be a factor to consider, but once you setup a solid base, you will continue to make breakthroughs and progress. It's worth a try, really good title!

I LOVE this game; I have 52+ hours in it and it just keeps getting better! I literally do not have one bad thing to say about this game; it's flipping AWESOME. If you're looking for a survival, challenging, exciting, loose story driven game, come and join us.

immersive and pleasant experience. it's like reading a book!

It's become something of a rite of passage that anyone I'm close friends with or dating has to play this with me at some point.

They must become a part of the tribe. We chant "Wolfbait, hoo ha ha!" at them, show them our ways, make memories, discover our niches.

The only other game that gives an experience anything like this for me is Old Gen Monster Hunter. Just like in that game, I am the spreadsheets guy. I am also the human encyclopedia of knowledge, the looter, the trader, the wolf slayer, and above all The Malefactor.

I love my tribe. I love being a Malefactor. I love Vintage Story.

This has been one of, if not my favorite survival experience. This game doesn't just hand you the stuff you need, but it also has it all over the place, you just got to look. Another thing is the progress, each "age" helps you to make it to the next, pottery leads to copper, copper to bronze, so on, so forth. But this game has made it IMPOSSIBLE to get back into other games without me questioning why its so much different.

The dev's made an AMAZING game, and I hope it gets the attention it deserves.

I bought this game yesterday and have only just loaded into a world now and played for a bit and wow It gave me that same feeling as when I was a child loading into my first Minecraft world. how did you guys do that?

genuinely one of the best survival games ever 100% worth the money

Great game, however there is one thing that could be added easily that could improve it. You see, the Winter's are too easy for a very simple reason, you can just eat the roots of cattails (or their southern equivalent) for an indefinite amount of time (and in the south you can just eat the bamboo shoots.) this makes the winters far too easy and decreases the stakes of preparing for Winter since you can always fall back on cattail roots (or their southern equivalent). In addition to having the bamboo shoots and cattail roots (and their southern equivalent) not provide any nutrition (as in increasing health) the satiety they provide should decrease the more you eat them. Perhaps it could be that after eating 10 of them their satiety decreases by 20 or maybe after eating enough of them you just can't eat them any more (also a setting to disable this and the satiety bouncing back after a while would be great too). For people reading this review wondering if they should get the game, you should, most definitely, the amount of engaging content this game offers to you is second to none, however, if you didn't like Minecraft (or games like it), this game could not be the game too you, so before you buy it look into it a bit more to see if it is the game you truly want.

I found this game on YouTube as a random recommended video, I think it was a gameplay, the game looked like a cheap version of minecraft at first, but when I got more into the video, I found that it's actually a very nice game, I just had some issues with finding where to get it, when I found out, saw the price, made an account and reached for my card, this game is a great survival experience (I don't know about the other modes, but survival is fun) and it even supports the language in my country, I can recommend this game to honestly anyone, it's a neat game, sadly not known as much as it deserves to be. It's well worth the 18 euros at least, this game has a great potential.

The attention to detail for everything is really incredible and you can really tell this is a product of passion form the creators!

One of the best early access purchases I've ever made. Developer is extremely receptive to the community and open about progress with the game. I've put almost 200 hours into this game over the past 3 years and despite this being by a smaller indie dev, the updates to the game easily outclass Minecraft's updates. Strongly recommend.

10/10, The game doesn't even feel like early access. I would highly recommend this game to anyone. This game truly is a gem.  

I've had this game a few years now.

Background info, I came from the other popular block game which I fell out of love from. The other game was my favorite survival / building outlet game up until around the full release when they added the broken hunger system (way too easy to basically ignore) and it became far too unfocused on actual survival.

There are modpacks that do add some of the features of this game back into the limelight, but why try and play a modpack when you can play a game solely focused on hardcore survival.

I don't really have much else to say, it's great and if you enjoyed the alpha / beta versions of Minecraft more than the later versions I can probably assure you this game will tickle your fancy.

Nevertheless, I love this game and I wish more people knew about it

The crafting system is really cool and I'm keen to see where this game's future is like.
