bibby Posted September 25, 2022 Report Posted September 25, 2022 (edited) I find it greatly satisfying to take a hot work item off of the anvil and Q it into water to quickly cool the item for immediate assembly. So when I built my current smithing structure, I made a shallow channel attached to a well with a dirt plug where I placed my molds. I was hoping that pours could be cooled down more quickly by pulling the plug and letting water run over the molds, but I found that this did not work. It'd be pretty nice if it did, imo. Thanks for reading. Edited September 25, 2022 by bibby grammars 5
SereptitiousServal Posted March 5, 2025 Report Posted March 5, 2025 I recently tried to cool a heated mold with a watering can. It can be done! But the mold shattered and the part was lost, refunding me about three-fourths of the material cost. This would be neat, even if we needed more durable molds to do it. 1
Maelstrom Posted March 5, 2025 Report Posted March 5, 2025 That was a feature implemented in the 1.20 update. 1
