ifoz Posted June 10, 2024 Report Posted June 10, 2024 I think it's kind of strange how you can find ruined tools and pristine tools in ruins, but there is never a type that is in-between 'completely broken' and 'never used'. I think that it could be cool if you could find "corroded" tools and lanterns, that would function like their normal counterparts, except with less durability, mining speed and damage. They would be tier 2 (copper), but would be worse than regular copper tools. I think that this could add to the immersion of scavenging through ruins a little. Does anyone else like this idea, or is it just me? 2

Actually, on a much similar case, I was hoping that the devs could allow players to pick up ruined items without totally breaking them and bring it to a certain location, say your base or camp, where you can repair them.

Currently you can use pitch glue to pick up/relocate ruined clutter items, but you can't repair them/change their texture to be pristine. It's possible to do that in creative, so I think it would be fun if we had some way of doing so in survival. 1

In real life situations, there are certain type of glues that can put together materials that make it even stronger than the original state. I hope the devs would think of some materials to add to the game that could do just that; well, just hoping. Hmm, pitch glue...never encountered that. Thanks for the tip. Will try to make one. Yes, I searched glue on the Wiki and found out that "pitch glue" is just the same as "glue". I prepared a mixture and tried fixing a broken lantern but failed. It was rather a bit disappointing so I aborted the effort thinking I'd run out of resin that I could use on some other more useful things. I can build a lantern anyway. Uhm, disabling the option is quite a nice suggestion and thanks for that. I'll check the server commands available if I can still do it but will have to think about it though.
