Wally_The_Terrible Posted October 18, 2024 Report Posted October 18, 2024 I saw the update notes for what 1.20 plans on adding in regard to rope for animal herding, but then I saw the part about rope tension and snapping. I immediately thought of the addition of a rappelling system. Imagine those awful hell holes that you don't see and fall in to, but instead of a digging a hole in from the side or building downward with an ugly dirt staircase (just to find nothing anyhow) it would so cool to set rope on a pole or fence, then rappel down and see if there's anything good. And maybe have rope be throwable but having to wind it up into a knot before being able to launch it, as opposed to throw spamming. Then throw it onto stalactites, physically tighten the knot then start climbing. And have any blocks made of rock or stalactites be able to damage the rope causing it to snap. Even if this was a "planned feature", I highly doubt they would work on this considering the difficulty they already have with the current implementation of rope. Maybe for the final boss the game gives you the guidelines for making the code, so that the gamers suffer the same fate as the devs while also doing the leg work. 2
StCatharines Posted October 18, 2024 Report Posted October 18, 2024 Check out the Wanda's Gadgets mod. It's a very creative, interesting mod, and adds a grappling hook to the game to do what you imagine.
