Lewarde Posted November 3, 2024 Report Posted November 3, 2024 Hello everyone ! Before I start, I'm kind of a newbie on Fedora, so may be my problem is really easy to solve but I really need help ! Beside, English isn't my native language so I'm really sorry if you have some problem understanding me, I'll do my best to explain ! So I decided recently that I wanted to play Vintage story ('cause the game look cool) and decided to install it on my Fedora MATE 40 to play it a bit. I install the game and try to play it by running run.sh, it doesn't work and I don't really read the instruction and decide to run Vintagestory. It doesn't work either and my terminal tell me that I should install dotnet, I install it and it doesn't work either. APPARENTLY the game only run with dotnet 7.0 BUT dotnet 7.0 doesn't exist on Fedora ? when I look on the micrsoft website, it say that only the 6.0 and the 8.0 is supported ? Is there any fix I can make to solve this problem ? Apparently manual installation exist but it's seem a bit difficult and I hope there is an easier way, if not I will try that but I still hope I'm just stupid and forgot to change a parameter or that something exist to install easily dotnet 7.0 . If you have the same problem or a way to fix it, hit me up ! I'll be glad to know
Brady_The Posted November 3, 2024 Report Posted November 3, 2024 Hey, Lewarde, welcome. I don't dabble in Linux, but I have seen your problem mentioned more than once. See if this helps: 2

The command I used was sudo DNF_VAR_releasever=39 dnf install dotnet-runtime-7.0 Do note that we're installing the runtime, not the sdk. Unless you want to develop things with net7, all you need is the runtime. SDK (software development kit) is for developers. 1
