Mads Fell Posted January 30, 2025 Report Posted January 30, 2025 When trying to take screenshots, the game tries to send them to \user\onedrive\pictures\ (which it can't find, causing an error in-game) instead of where it used to send them when I first got the game like two years ago. Is there a way to reroute it back to its original file location?
VictorShadow Posted January 31, 2025 Report Posted January 31, 2025 I've got the same issue, I have this on my client main log: [Error] Screenshot failed: [Error] Exception: Could not find file 'D:\*MyNameSoIchangedThis*\Pictures\Vintagestory\temp.txt'. Hope someone knows what's the issue because I've got not clue.
idiomcritter Posted January 31, 2025 Report Posted January 31, 2025 hmm, don't see a Client startup parameter for that option. nothing within the game settings either. damn. Well, there is a course/gross change if running windows11 that is outlined here, quoting the following: Quote By default, the Camera app in Windows saves photos and videos in the folder “C: User[User name] PicturesOwn recordings.” If there is little space left on drive or if you simply prefer a different drive, you can change this path. Go to Settings > System > Storage > Advanced storage settings > Where new content is saved. Set the desired drive under New photos and videos will save to: and click on Apply. New pictures will then appear in the folder “[username]PicturesCamera Roll.” Another possibility is to move the entire default folder. To do this, right-click on Pictures > Properties, then select the Location tab, and Move. Next, set the desired storage location and click on Select folder. Confirm with OK and answer the security question with Yes. Windows will now also move all existing pictures and videos to the new folder. Not exactly the best granularity as the change is now for all things running under windows and not just the VS game....
VictorShadow Posted February 12, 2025 Report Posted February 12, 2025 I've just found out that my pc's windows security (Windows 10) blocked access for the process: 'Vintagestory.exe'. It stopped it from using the protected folder: 'D:\*MyNameSoIchangedThis*\Pictures\Vintagestory\' I haven't tested it yet but it maybe what caused the screenshot issue for me, and you may also have the same thing going on your pc's.
