Something is being wonky again, some users can connect, others can't. I presume the domain changes need a bit of time to propagate worldwide. All DNS entries should be correct at this point.
FYI: Regarding the original cause of this - turns out the 3rd party provider just lost all A record of our domain
Apparently right after the name server change my domain provider then pushed out the wrong name server entries as well. Which now ripples through the world until corrrected. Sigh.
