can't put any attachments on to the elk or sailboat

the new update is so good but I'm not able to put any attachments on the elk or sailboat. I tried shift right clicking and everything it just doesn't work. I have the thing I'm trying to put on in my hand. I went to reddit and on YouTube but no one seemed to have my problem. If you now how to fix this, please tell me!

think its cntrl click (not shift click), but i'm thinking thats what you ment?
