Spyker100 Posted February 17, 2025 Report Posted February 17, 2025 Hey, I started playing with temporal storms disabled in my world. Then I changed my mind, but after turning them on to occur naturally via a command nothing happened. When using the command /nexttempstorm, a negative value is shown. Using /nexttempstorm now just gives -0, and it counts down from there. Is there any workaround to this?
Thorfinn Posted February 17, 2025 Report Posted February 17, 2025 Welcome to the forums, @Spyker100. Most commands of that nature require you to reload the world. If you've already done that, someone will be by shortly to assist you.
Spyker100 Posted February 18, 2025 Author Report Posted February 18, 2025 Thanks Thorfinn! I have reloaded the game a couple times after using the command. I think the issue is that once the countdown timer to a temporal storm is in the negative value range, resetting it does not work because it goes to “negative zero”, rather than 0. I’ve tried setting it to negative zero and then adding -2 hours to the time, in an effort to have the temp storm countdown variable roll back to positive values, but of course this is not possible. Having a command that would allow me to set the countdown timer at an arbitrary positive value, e.g. 2 hours, would resolve the problem I assume. But as far as I could find this command doesn’t exist yet.

Thorfinn Posted February 24, 2025 Report Posted February 24, 2025 (edited) Sorry. Slipped my mind. I see no one else has popped in. What specifically did you do to add storms? I believe the default settings should be: /worldconfig temporalStability true /worldconfig temporalStorms "sometimes" If those do not exist, you have to use the following: /worldconfigcreate bool temporalStability true /worldconfigcreate string temporalStorms "sometimes" [EDIT] It is possible you might have to disable storms, restart, enable storms, restart. queerginger55 Posted February 25, 2025 Report Posted February 25, 2025 same issue here, tried what thorfinn suggested and its still negative : (
Solution Thorfinn Posted February 25, 2025 Solution Report Posted February 25, 2025 (edited) Guess I'll have to start a game and see. I've never started a game without storms before. Meanwhile, if you type in the commands, /worldconfig temporalStability /worldconfig temporalStorms what does it tell you they are set to? Edited February 25, 2025 by Thorfinn 1
Spyker100 Posted March 2, 2025 Author Report Posted March 2, 2025 This worked! I had temporal stability disabled, as it seemed like a game mechanic that I didn't want to bother with. But apparently, without it, temporal storms don't work! Thanks for helping to clear that up. I also discovered that if you turn off temporal storms and temporal stability again during a temporal storm, the temporal storm will never end. But this can be fixed by turning both settings on again and waiting for the storm to pass. 1
