Bogdanul Posted April 8, 2025 Report Posted April 8, 2025 Hello everyone, got a question regarding the current rift activity that appears under the Environment details (so not unstable regions). For the entire month of December I had the rift activity "Very High", now I am in January, and still Very High. 2-3 rifts are always near my base. I got used to kill a lot of drifters each morning just to go out my base, but it is becoming a bit annoying. Is this normal for the rift activity to last this long? I am using the latest "unstable" unstable version (1.20.8), but very high rift activity began before I updated from stable (1.20.7).
Solution LadyWYT Posted April 8, 2025 Solution Report Posted April 8, 2025 Welcome to the forums! Rift activity can last for a while, though the lower values tend to last longer than high activity periods. How often do you check the activity levels? It's possible the activity could have changed, and changed back to Very High without your noticing. Though from what you're reporting here, it also sounds likely that you've encountered a bug. If you've been checking it frequently, and not otherwise messed with any time-altering console commands, I would go report the issue over on the bug tracker.
Bogdanul Posted April 8, 2025 Author Report Posted April 8, 2025 For sure I checked it a few times per game day, and didn't change since winter started. It is my first time playing, currently building bronze tools going to find and make some iron, so I don''t really know how much time it takes for a period of rift activity. I'll give it a few more days and see, if not, I will submit a ticket. Thank you for your answer :).
Bogdanul Posted April 8, 2025 Author Report Posted April 8, 2025 Update regarding the issue, I actually found the bug on github already submitted, for everyone else who might have the issue on latest unstable version. I downgraded to latest stable version and after sleep it went back to Calm now, after a hellish full December. https://github.com/anegostudios/VintageStory-Issues/issues/5699
