Zaibatsu Posted April 24, 2025 Report Posted April 24, 2025 Tried looking for this issue on the forums but can't seem to find anyone suffering the same issue. After the update the font in the game suddenly changed (idk to what), it turned to a very code like font which is the best I can describe it. I thought I could play through it, not 15 mins in I had to stop. Who would've thought font would kill a game for me after 50 hours in. Looking at other forums I noticed the font selection is decided by 'clientsettings' JSON file. In it mine has: "defaultFontName": "sans-serif", Looking that up I can confirm what I have doesn't at all match what should be. Idk if its relevant but I have ENG and JAP language package installed. I've tried reinstalling fresh except my save data and removed all mods, still having this issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Kreeate Posted April 24, 2025 Report Posted April 24, 2025 Out of curiosity, do you have "decorativeFontName": "Lora", in clientsettings.json ?

Some wires must have been seriously crossed. It might be due to the JAP language pack. I suppose you could circumvent this by setting a font, instead of a font-family. Two examples: "defaultFontName": "Segoe UI", "defaultFontName": "Microsoft Sans Serif", 1

Yes, here's the first few lines of that code: "stringSettings": { "settingsVersion": "1.13", "language": "en", "defaultFontName": "sans-serif", "decorativeFontName": "Lora", 30 minutes ago, Brady_The said: Peculiar. The JAP language package was a wild guess that may or may not have anything to do with anything. It shouldn't as the font selection is based on the name.
Zaibatsu Posted April 24, 2025 Author Report Posted April 24, 2025 @Brady_The You glorious bastard. Yes that did the fix. I choose Microsoft Sans Serif and things are looking exactly as it did. I don't have a github account so I can't report this as a ticket issue. Hopefully someone can do it for me. 1
