Xinom Posted April 28, 2025 Report Posted April 28, 2025 Hi everyone, So i cannot pickup any item from the ground after i broke a block. When i broke it, its fall on the ground like normaly but cannot take it. It happen with everyting, log,stick,bone,dirt,stone... At the begining it happen only some random time, like every 1hour of playing, but now it allways like that. If i logout, or restart the game, went i came back in the game, it pickup only the item that is under me, but not all the next item drop on the ground. So every time i cut a tree, i need to logout and come back to pickup stuff. and that for each new loots.... If i cut like 4 tree before logout, its the same, whend i login , it pick only whats under me, than if i walk on the other loot, it does not pick it. I am at 30h in my game. I also remove my mods and it not change anyting. If i start a new save, it doesn't do it but maybe the probleme happen only when the save is bigger. Sorry for my bad english, this is not my first language. Hope i can find a solution here.
Sertyu Posted April 28, 2025 Report Posted April 28, 2025 (edited) ...is your inventory full? you have a limit on how many things you can carry. (i know its a dumb question but just in case) if you are taling about foods, the game will not combine items with different spoileage times automatically if u can send a screenshot of your inventory se we can see whats up Edited April 28, 2025 by Sertyu
Sai3er Posted July 11, 2025 Report Posted July 11, 2025 Having the same problem with mine. Set up multiplayer and the friend keeps crashing as well. Inventory not full. Just lots of items around me and cannot pick them up. When I first join it grabs everything below me and then can't pick anything else up. Doesn't work on single or multi player. It was working fine for 6 hours of playing. This just suddenly happened mid game as I was prospecting a cave. I noticed I wasn't picking up the stones and then knew something was up when it wasn't grabbing a fallen torch despite my inventory almost empty. thanks.
Sai3er Posted July 11, 2025 Report Posted July 11, 2025 I want to also add that everything else is working. I can still mine, and build.

Rudometkin Posted July 11, 2025 Report Posted July 11, 2025 Did you activate "Arthritis" in the world settings when you started the world? That'll make it difficult to pick items up when your character is busy with flareups from time to time. ---------- O.K., I know this will sound crazy, but it's worth a try: Open your character screen and take off/reapply any armor or clothing items you have equipped. I have known this to solve a visual glitch with my character before. If there are any floating blocks that are waiting to be picked up, try destroying the blocks beneath them. That seems to have solved some people's similar problems based on what I read. While it might not really make sense why that would fix the pickup item glitch, it may be worth trying to find a few different triggers that might fix the issue. It also could be an overloading issue. I've heard of someone getting this issue after a landslide happened, which indicates it may have been due to memory overload. Maybe? Also, check your settings to see if it is somehow switching to ['Sneak' to pick up items]. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on it can come in and help. 1
Sai3er Posted July 11, 2025 Report Posted July 11, 2025 Hi Rudo, thanks for all your suggestions. I am foolish. There was another mod that was still enabled that affected it. I disabled and it seems to be working fine... Even though that mod and everything else was loaded for the first 8 hrs of play without issue. It was a the "bettercompost" mod. Thanks again. 1

I don't have the bettercompost mod and am having the same issue where I can't pick up dropped items despite having enough storage slots available. Did you ever find a fix to this?? These bugs have been incredibly annoying and hopefully 1.20.6 is more stable and less janky. lol

Unless you're playing vanilla(in which case, you've probably found a bug if you have inventory space and the world isn't lagging), it's very likely an issue caused by a mod. The general fix is to disable mods, verify that vanilla works properly, and then re-enable mods one by one and test as you do so to see when the issue crops back up. It's a tedious process, especially if you have a lot of mods, but it's the easiest way to figure out which one is being the problem if there's otherwise no obvious culprit.
