LagginDragon Posted May 1, 2025 Report Posted May 1, 2025 I completed the resonance archives and without trying to give away any spoilers I was just curious about the three or four chests that I found that were collapsed and they had a single granite stone in them and wondering if that meant anything. I didn't see anything about it in any of the lore that I've read.
Never Jhonsen Posted May 1, 2025 Report Posted May 1, 2025 If you're talking about the repeating room, there's no lore to those stones specifically, but there is lore about why that room is the way it is. (And I've currently forgotten the exact reason sorry)

(And I've currently forgotten the exact reason sorry) I don't think it's been directly explained as to why some areas of the Archive have been copied. My general assumption, without spoiling too much, is that during the events of the initial cataclysm and the resulting temporal storms after, some parts of the structure fared better than others. Canonically, the temporal storms used to be a lot stronger than the ones we face now, and there were forces strong enough to shift locations like the Archive around, though those forces may or may not be related to the temporal storms. In any case, some parts probably got duplicated in the process, and the parts most affected also seem to be the parts that are covered in the weird rusty tendrils. Such tendrils seem to be a recurring motif so there's certainly some sort of connection. 1 2

Given the pipe networks in RA, some of it could be burst machinery. Though given the state of a certain spooky tower where those tendrils look like they are growing as massive fungi, it's gotta be more than just burst pipes. Also, did we all catch the RA room thatย Spoiler goes up forever seemingly and then has a mirrored version on the ceiling ? that one creeped me the fuck out when I realized what was up. 2

That was my same thought as well, when I first saw them Especially with how Derail Valley colors them, in that rusted way. I would also like to say, in regards to that the large thing in the middle of the main room, that for the longest time, I thought it was a sleeping creature, and in a later chapter we would be fighting an insanely large beast. There were a few times in 1.18 and 1.19 that I could see the spokes on the side move slightly, as if it were breathing ever so gently. 1.20 seems to have stilled it, I no longer see them move Spoiler Of course, now I know it as the Echo Chamber. But, part of me still enjoys the thought of a sleeping creature, awaiting to return to the sunlit world above ย
