HeermanTheGerman Posted May 11, 2025 Report Posted May 11, 2025 I wondered if Nadyia will truly be the last remnant of civilization. Then it dawned on me that this would not make sense. Just on the way between the story locations Archives, Lazarett, Nadyia etc. I have dsicovered and talked to more traders than the entire population of Nadyia itself. It wouldnt quite make sense for so many trader Caravans to exist facilitating trade between nobody. They talk about how there is good profit to be made trading and travelling instead of living a sedentary lifestyle. Well, trade between who? I think there will be more settlements added in following updates. Nadyia cant be the only one left. I wonder if there will be only story location settlements or proceduraly generated ones like the other block game implemented them. 2

I would definitely love being able to find other settlements and interact with humans but it definitely would need to fit the game, I suppose it depends on how important Nadyia specifically is to the story and if other settlements would detract from that. I think it would be fine in that case if the knowledge that somewhere in the world other people are surviving and even thriving without actually putting settlements in. Then again, the way traders talk makes it seem like we could discover other towns eventually and that trade is definitely important and lucrative given how many traders you seem to run into sometimes, so I'm hopeful.

I'm expecting to see at least one more bastion of civilization, perhaps a proper fortified town that is much bigger than Nadiya, in addition to maybe another small village on the scale of Nadiya. The Cardinals is a prime suspect for such a location, as it's hinted at being some sort of religious/political center, which would be ideal for a larger settlement. I don't expect to see any procedural generation of settlements though, as that would likely populate the world a bit too much and the settlements themselves seem intended to be plot-critical. It's easier to pack more fine details into a unique set piece, than it is to try to pack a lot of fine detail into something randomized.

Can't wait for the social commentary of those. Humbly requiring for any of that to be a mod to the game...cause I doubt refunds will go through, should it turn out to be cancer, after hundreds of hours of play. Edited May 12, 2025 by LoveWyrm
