My personal schedule just opened up and it looks like I'll be able to release 3 episodes a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).

All future notifications will appear here so that I don't spam the message board with a gazillion new topics.

(Also, because I'm an idiot I only just now realized that anyone who is actually interested in my series can simply follow this topic to be notified when new content drops. Easier all 'round for everyone. I learn, slowly. <sigh>)

Episode 3: Quest For Cattails

Now broadcasting in Super Zip-O-Vision (aka 1440p)!

For the previous two episodes, no matter how good the quality of my original upload, YouTube's conversion process was making them look like they'd gone through the digital equivalent of a meat grinder.  Research informed me that uploading in 1440p or higher resolution sends your video through a different processing pipeline with better results.  Since I actually record and edit in 1440p it wasn't difficult to upload in it, except that, on my not-so-fast Internet connection, uploading a video of this length at 1440p now takes multiple hours, which I was previously reluctant to do. It appears, however, to be worth the wait because the quality, even of the down-scaled 1080p and 720p versions, is so much better now.  Live and learn.

Episode 5

What Happens in the River Stays in the River

A frustrating (for me) episode wherein we narrowly avoid burning down the neighbourhood, discover the virtual impossibility of skinning something in moving water, and then bring multiple landslides down upon ourself.  Ah, soil instability, why did I think you were a good thing to enable?  On the bright side, and also thanks to the river, we do discover more copper.
