Mark32 Posted June 17, 2025 Report Posted June 17, 2025 So I've reached a point where I have a lot of vegetables that are impossible for me to consume. I've got 5 stacks of various veggies that are about 40-60 days away from rotting. What would be better? Let them rot and make compost, or make a bunch of sealed crock pots and make a bunch of meals with them? I haven't found any salt deposits so pickling is only limited to what I can get from traders and I don't think I can get enough for all of them.
Solution Never Jhonsen Posted June 17, 2025 Solution Report Posted June 17, 2025 If you have a cellar, I would cook them. Sealed meals tend to last longer in a cellar than their raw ingredients, especially if you put your crocks into a vessel and not on a shelf. 1
Thorfinn Posted June 17, 2025 Report Posted June 17, 2025 If you can't get your hoarding under control, soon you will have a dozen storage vessels full of veggies, and be firing another dozen storage vessels for your upcoming harvest.
Grummsh Posted June 22, 2025 Report Posted June 22, 2025 if you have already or are able to harvest some halite for salt - make pickles
