The game doesen´t load Mods

Hello everyone,

i installed VS on my Laptop with mods.

Then i wanted it to play on my PC, so i copied the data folder, cut the old one and pasted the new.

Now my mods are not loading, even in the main menu, they don´t show up.

But if i open the mods folder through the game, the mods are there.

A reintallation didn´t help either.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

 

Open your "clientsettings.json" and look for "modPaths", and check if that points to the correct directory where your mods are located.

It should be almost at the bottom of that file.

Also check the same in "serverconfig.json" file.

Hi thanks for the  fast repy.

I looked in my "clientsettings.json"

 "dialogPositions": [],
    "modPaths": [
      "Mods",
      "C:\\Users\\user\\AppData\\Roaming\\VintagestoryData\\Mods"

should be correct?! 

I tryed to changed it to   "C:\\Users\\(name in windows)\\AppData\\Roaming\\VintagestoryData\\Mods" didn´t help either.

Soooo

I deleted the configs and started the Game.

Now everything is reset, but the mods are there.

 

I don´t know exactly what it was, but this works for me atm.

Most likely this one:

been playing with a lot loading and unloading mods. So it looks like your getting mods off and cleaning then do a "reinstall". 

goto : C:\Users\(your name  will appear here)\AppData\Roaming\VintagestoryData (general file where you saves mods and all main player stuff is found to find your way you will have to select view in the file explorer and choose show hidden then you can find your way down the rabbit hole here)

now that you are here you should see the folders named :

• Mods (this is where mod and changes you want for the game go. just copy paste the .zip files here) You know the mods you download                          from https://mods.vintagestory.at/
• Cashe (this is where the loaded mod data goes) --> unpack (folder) then the items listed here are your mods that you installed. Delete them and put the new .zip mod file in the Mods folder, start the game back up and you should be fulling installed.

Open the Mods option on the welcome Vintage Story screen and you should see all items placed in your Mods folder.
