my first encounter(s) with a new enemy

I am on my very first (and blind) playthrough, 25hrs in. having a lot of fun just trying to figure things out and not knowing anything. I was looking for limestone when I stumbled upon this cave. Felt like I dropped directly into a horror movie, had the scare of my life and lost all my stuff - it was amazing

please dont explain anything about the game to me, wanna keep finding out the hard way
