So, I was enjoying the sea in my sailboat when my game crashed (as it does way too often). When I logged back in the boat had dissapeared. I checked the area from the place I first got into the boat to where I crashed and didnt find it. The same happened to me some time after with a raft. Now im afraid to make a new one, risking  randomly losing the flax of an entire year plus all I may carry in the chests. Has this happened to anybody else? Any clues?

Data loss on a crash isn't particularly surprising, but I am a bit surprised about the crashes being common for you. Are you running lots of mods or one of the RCs?

I dont know, are 15 mods a lot? And what does RC stand for? Aparently my PC is not good enough to run VS without random issues, but this is different as I usually lose a few minutes of gameplay, but I had never lost entities while everything else saved properly.

She means are you running the last stable release or one of the Release Candidates since then?

15 mods are not a lot, but even 1 might be a lot if it's not stable. In case of a crash it's necessary to look at log files to understand what caused it, and there are additional logs that can be enabled in dev mode for this, but the game is not crash-prone per se. Alas, being every pc different from one another in hardware and software anything can happen.

If you experience frequent crashes and can't solve them because of your pc, you can make a backup of your last save before playing by copying the Saves and Maps folders. I recommend this for important worlds in any case, because a save can be lost because of other causes (operating system or hardware fault, see last windows 11 update that corrupted some ssd...).
