Bärlauch Posted September 5, 2025 Report Posted September 5, 2025 Hello, The other day I got a temporal gear when I was looking for copper (I'm still in the stone age, first time player). I looked it up and it said that I could use it to create a new spawn point, but it didn't mention that there was a limited number of uses. I'm still in winter/early spring and waiting for berries to arrive so I'm basically dying every day from hunger, and when I saw this message after spawning I was a little bummed because I would have waited for spring if I had known that. Is there a way to move your spawn point permanently? Winter makes it very hard because once I run to my base from spawn my hunger bar is basically empty again. Thanks!

By default, a temporal gear provides 20 respawns at a set location, but you can change the number to infinite, which pretty much makes it a permanent change. /worldconfig temporalGearRespawnUses -1 should set it to infinite, but you may need to reload your world for the change to take effect. 1
Solution Echo Weaver Posted September 5, 2025 Solution Report Posted September 5, 2025 (edited) There's a server command to change the number of respawns from a temporal gear to infinite. I changed to that after an unfortunate incident of a nightmare drifter making it into my base and camping my respawn spot until the respawns for that gear ran out. Edit: Ninja'd by @LadyWYT The command is: /worldconfig temporalGearRespawnUses -1 Edited September 5, 2025 by Echo Weaver 2
Echo Weaver Posted September 5, 2025 Report Posted September 5, 2025 There's also the command /serverconfig setspawnhere which would allow you to set your spawn point permanently back to where it was before the gear spawns ran out. 2
Bärlauch Posted September 5, 2025 Author Report Posted September 5, 2025 Hey, thanks for the replies. Where do I enter that command? I'm playing single player, I have no server.

Hit T to open the chatbox, type in the command, and hit Enter when done. I believe hitting / also opens the chatbox as well. 1
Bärlauch Posted September 5, 2025 Author Report Posted September 5, 2025 Thanks a lot to all of you!!!

I copied this into chat but it didn't work. I had a storm and was killed a couple of times because my spawn was in the middle of a group of mobs and then I was at the original spawn again.

Did you reload the world after running the command? Some commands require a world reload before they take effect.
