Veronica Hohenheim Posted September 23, 2025 Report Posted September 23, 2025 I am a new player.I know that I need a sealed enviroment to game count it as a room and I know I need it for winter.Currently I am in august and didnt wanted to get caught unprepared.Everything has been going slow but steady.I built my first proper housing and tought I was going to be done with it moment I put some glasses, but when I used debug command everywhere was red.Only place wasnt red was my cellar and I have just built it idk. My current built is 8x8+4x4 'side room' with nothing between. Its two stories and there is a basement forge connected to cellar(5x5x3).Everywhere seemed closed,I used my glasses to every window but it didnt work somehow. Now I have seen a troubleshooting note that half blocks may create problem which I used them twice.Once for the ceiling and secondly as a floor of the second story. Now is the problem wooden slabs? If so do I need to only change the ceiling or do I need to go ahead and change both of them which seems tiring.I would have been ok if slabs could become whole blocks with another but it doesnt seem to be the case. And if I chisel the whole blocks like slabs will the problem arise again ?
Zane Mordien Posted September 23, 2025 Report Posted September 23, 2025 (edited) Sounds like you have multiple problems going. The half slabs are an issue depending on which way they face. I recommend using dirt blocks to cover areas that are questionable until you get a room. That is my quick and dirty method to identify issues. Fix each problem as you find it. Keep in mind, your whole house doesn't need to be a room. Just where you are spending the majority of your time in the winter months. As long as the crafting room is a "room" the rest of the house can be decorative. Edited September 23, 2025 by Zane Mordien

First of all I changed the ceiling with full blocks, nothing changed. Then I saw a chiseled wall not highlighted.I removed it and put a non chiseled one and it worked.I guess ceiling was a issue too cuz it wasnt highlighted either. Now my second story floor is still colorless everywhere in the house is green. I am glad its one less thing to worry abt. I didnt wanted to section rooms bcz I wanted to able to use all of them and I dont use just one story alone and now I am free to be in whichever.
Migo Posted September 23, 2025 Report Posted September 23, 2025 There is a mod that should resolve the chiselled walls not being registered as a room. https://mods.vintagestory.at/cbr This might still have blocks it doesn't catch but does help a lot of people when they start to stylise their houses.
